New Coloring Book, European Country Maps Coloring Book

Announcing the release of my newest coloring book, European Country Maps Coloring Book, 46 Blank, Outline, and Detailed Country Maps for Coloring, Home, and Education.

In this book, you will learn about and color the countries of Europe in European Country Maps Coloring Book, 46 Blank, Outline, and Detailed Country Maps for Coloring, Home, and Education. Includes France, United Kingdom, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Spain, and 40 more. Learn and color blank, outline, and detailed maps of the European Countries.

The blank outline maps are great for learning the geography and layout of each country. Each country map is presented in two ways, a map of their administrative districts or political borders, including capitals and several cities. Plus, a blank outline map of each country. Many maps include the surrounding border countries.

Perfect for coloring, home, and education. Students can trace the outlines of the map, study, and highlight countries and features on the blank maps. Maps can be photocopied for sharing with your children or students. A great resource for students and teachers.

Launching The Self-Publishing Manual, Create and Publish Your Own Print and e-Book

Launching The Self-Publishing Manual, Create and Publish Your Own Print and e-Book

Bruce introduces his new book and the upcoming book launch in the How to Publish Your Book Facebook Group. Over the next several weeks I will be conducting a series of training broadcasts on all aspect of launching my new book.

The Self-Publishing Manual Ranked at #3 in Electronic Documents

What is amazing is that this video pushed my book from #225 to # 3 on Amazon in Electronic Documents and #12 in Book Design. What is unusual is that most people do book launches with Kindle e-books and price them at $.99. I did this with a $30 paperback book. A huge thank you to all. I think it is partly the power of having an engaged platform and active fans. And having a much better book title that tells you exactly what the book is about. Having a platform to launch your book into is essential. I recommend using video to promote your books in any way that you can

You can check out the book on Amazon

Can I Sell My CreateSpace Books at Local Stores in Our Town

Question from the How to Publish Your Book Facebook Group:

Enjoyed your live session just now. I think someone has asked this before but...if I publish through Create Space, can I sell my books at local stores in our small town?

Answer: Most stores won't order books from Createspace because they can't be returned, but there is nothing stopping you from doing it and selling them to the stores yourself. I agree with getting your own ISBN, but in reality if you are the sales person and you are managing your own little book distribution business then it doesn't really matter. If you have your own ISBN and your books start selling you could then reprint them on IngramSpark and go bigger. Something you can't do with CreateSpace.

Remember the books you see in stores are actually all there on consignment. Meaning they can all be returned if they don't sell. You can manage it that way or you could price your books so that you could give a big discount with the thought that the stores buys them outright and you don't have to deal with returns. Make it a one way trip. That is what I have done when I have sold books to a store or festival. Also come up with a bulk package. Maybe 10 books at 60% off and free shipping. The store then makes a nice profit and you don't have to get them back. Just work with the price. Go for it

Example:
Essential Chords for Guitar, Mandolin, Ukulele and Banjo
List price on Amazon $14.95
My cost for buying the book directly from CreateSpace is $5.05
My royalty from CreateSpace is $3.92
The rest are Createspace's costs

I could sell this book to a store or event at 50% off the list price of $14.95.

$14.95 x 50% off to the store = $7.47.........$7.47-$5.05 costs = $2.42 profit for me

Or I could raise the price to $19.95 and sell at 50% or 60% off.

$19.95 x 50% off to the store = $9.97.........$9.97-$5.05 costs = $4.92 profit for me
$19.95 x 60% off to the store = $7.98.........$7.98-$5.05 costs = $2.93 profit for me

There are lots of ways to configure this. Free shipping, minimum orders, include a display box such as from Uline.com. What you want to do is figure out a large enough order size and the correct pricing to make it worth while. Stores love free shipping or, come up with a number that covers most of it. If you don't have to run around and pick up books or small checks and make a decent profit this could be a nice little business.

$19.95 x 20 copies = $399.00 x 50% off + $199.5 - $101.00 cost ($5.05 x 20) = $98.50 profit.

Also think about your community, is it a vacation area, is it historical, does it have interesting things. Could you make a book around what is there and sell it in local stores. Ask your local retailers if they would sell your books. Or what kind of books would they like to sell in their stores. Basically create custom books for your community. I know of someone who created a fun summer children's book and sold it around the lake in their area. Every summer they would print 3,000 copies and just sell them in local stores. They could manage it, they lived there and deliver the books and pick up the checks. Could you do something like that. Do you have a store, go to festivals, sell at a farmers market. All opportunities to create a book or series of books and sell them.

Level 1. Marketing My Book with Little Effort and $0 Dollars

Level 1. Is for authors who really don’t want to do anything. They don’t want to spend money, they don’t want to post or blog or make videos or contact podcasters or anything. They just want to hit the publish button and somehow the book sells itself. Level 1 are my recommendations for those folks. You would be surprised, these are most of the authors I meet. They want book launch success but aren't really into all the internet marketing efforts that are usually needed. That is ok, here is my plan for getting your book launched.

Before Releasing
•    Be sure your book is edited and has a final proof read, twice if possible. Nothing will create a bad review more than bad grammar and spelling.

•    Create a good descriptive table of contents, these are your books main benefits. They are also very useful for the back cover.

•    Research your title and subtitle, do your readers know what the book is about. Don’t fall in love with your title, it might be wrong.

•    Add your web or Amazon Author Central address on the title page. If you are making a Kindle book make it a live http link.

•    Have a good, clear cover designed. Make sure the cover is readable at thumbnail size. This is the size we usually see when we do a search on Amazon. Elements: title, subtitle, author name, maybe a short quote, maybe benefits, good cover art.

•    If releasing a paperback book have an effective back cover. Elements: title, description, maybe a quote, benefits (Could be your Table of Contents), author picture, author bio, contact info, room for ISBN number.

•    Promote your next book in the back of your current book. Drop in the first chapter of the next book, add your bio, how about yours services or that you speak and how to contact you.

•    Set up your social media accounts, Facebook, YouTube, Google+, Pinterest, Linkedin, Instagram, Slideshare, SnapChat, Twitter, etc

•    Start releasing content around your subject and from your book as early as you can. Pick 1-3 sites to focus on.

Releasing/Launch
•    Pre-announce that you have a book coming out on your social media platforms. If you have other mailing lists then pre-announce on those also.

•    Announce a release date for your book on your social media. Picking a date really helps give you focus.

•    Announce the book release on your social media platforms with live links to the Amazon sales page.

•    Update all bios on your social media sites with your current book information; include links to Amazon for your book if possible.

•    Fill out your Amazon Author Central Account.

•    Link your book to your Author Central Page.

•    Take advantage of what Kindle and CreateSpace.com offers for programs.

Build a Media Kit
•    Build a basic Author Media Kit for promotion and interviews, this can be on your computer or your website. See more on setting up your own Author Media Kit in my post on how build one.

•    Make up jpg format book cover images in 3 sizes for marketing and posting, 2”, 4” and 6”, 300 dpi and 72 dpi. Your cover designer can give you these, make it part of the cover project.

•    Make up a picture of yourself holding your book cover, preferable near your head, this can be as simple as a selfie.

•    Prepare 50, 150-200 and 500 word bios and book descriptions with details you can have ready for promotion, interviews, blog posts.

After Releasing
•    Use the Amazon sales page social media links to post about your book.

•    Ask for Amazon reviews in your posts.

•    Write and send out a press release on several of the free or paid PR sites.

•    Add your book title and link to your e-mail signature line.

•    Let every company, organization, or association you are part of know about your new book, especially if they have a newsletter.
